The City of Maplewood has officially broken ground on the $12 million Main Street renovation project. The project will transform the downtown corridor with new sidewalks, bike lanes, improved lighting, and upgraded water infrastructure.
"This project represents our commitment to creating a vibrant, walkable downtown that serves residents and attracts businesses," said Mayor Patricia Chen at the groundbreaking ceremony.
Construction is expected to take 18 months, with phased closures to minimize disruption to local businesses. The project is funded through a combination of federal infrastructure grants and city bonds.
